After much discussion and to-ing and fro-ing with a few Pajero lovers, the concept of the Pajero Owners Club of South Africa has reached finality, and the website is up and running. The Pajero Club forum has been going for a couple of weeks now which enabled some members to get going, and offer us some ideas.
The website is now up and running as well, but with all things internet, it is subject to large amounts of change as people toss some ideas around.
The initial team started out with the following members:
- Myself (Simon Bloomer) from Cape Town
- Christo Pieterson and Henk Bannink from Johannesburg
- Gerrit Loubser from Richards Bay
- Gerhard Fourie from East London
who are now moderators, but special thanks must also go to Kai Vogel, Erik Skeen (yup THAT Toyota driver), Piet Petoors who owns the Hilux4x4 forum and Simon Morris who owns POCUK for their advise. Derren Page is my backup on the administration side. This project is THEIR concept, I'm just the guy who put it out there. If the websites don't work properly, the buck stops with me However, a lot of this is still in testing and there is always a lot to do, so let me know if there are any issues.
At last count the club had 52 members and we're adding a couple every day and with member help this should grow rapidly, and we'd like a membership of around 300 by Christmas. We're approaching dealerships and Daimler Chrysler for thein input so hold thumbs that they endorse us and we have full backing from them. I anticipate that this will be a place where you can get direct feedback from them regarding marketing questions and support. Turbo-charged aspirations indeed, but you have to aim somewhere!
Cheers for now
Simon
