It's been a crazy year, and I don't really know where it's gone. It seems as one gets older the years fly by and one Christmas season blurs into the next.
I have not been as involved with the Pajero Club as much as I would like to have been. New jobs and small families have a huge impact on personal time. However, I have several things planned for the Pajero Club in the new year and, with the help of the management (a.k.a mod team) we will bring these to fruition. These include some changes to the website, branding and merchandising, day trips, and maybe a long haul somewhere. I also need to spend some time fostering relationships with Mitsubishi.
What has pleased me no end though is that I had anticipated around 350 members by the end of the year, and we are now well over 400. This is partially thanks to our listing in SA4x4 and in Drive Out.
However, the activity on the forum is perhaps a bit lower than I would perhaps have liked. So I encourage every member to take the opportunity to interact on the forum. This is for you to gain knowledge and understanding of your vehicles, how to use them and places where you can use them. You will perhaps make some friends - I have found I have made many friends having just "met" them online through channels such as the club forum.
Remember that there is also a gallery and a documentation library which members are welcome to use. The documentation library is, to me, an important resource and desperately needs more contributions, especially for the newer vehicles.
Anyway, I on behalf of the management team wish every member of the club, and even those that are not members, a happy and prosperous festive season and a great 2010. If you are on the road, or goiing to be, drive carefully, and remember, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey.
Hopefully we will get to meet each other on the road. I leave you with this photo by Micha Coetzee, from his soon to be published article on his trip to Botswana

Regards Simon
