Re: 2008 pajero 3.2 Did service and maintenance

A very good mineral 15W40 oil is half the price of a good 5W30 full synthetic oil. So changing mineral oil more regularly doesn't have to be more expensive than pushing long distances on synthetic oil. I have stopped doing the mid-point oil change since acquiring my first synthetic oil lubricated ca...

Re: 2008 pajero 3.2 Did service and maintenance

If I recall correctly from my Pajero owner's manual, then full synthetic was for DiDs fitted with DPF. So it will work, but in hot SA I'd stick with best quality 15W40 and change regularly.

Re: What have you done to your Pajero today?

I had 18" Grabbers on my Isuzu. Did Tankwa with no problems. I thought they were a bit noisy on tar, but then again I didn't really know what a D/C should sound like inside.

Re: 2008 pajero 3.2 Did service and maintenance

Great. It is actually such an easy job. It takes longer to change and clean-up, than the actual service. A most worthwhile activity during service is to take a good light to the engine bay and underside of your Pajero. Check the wires, plugs, clamps, pipes, hoses and generally look for trouble. My 3...

That is great news. I trust you bought the correct oil (from a dealer) to fill-up with.

Re: 2008 pajero 3.2 Did service and maintenance

Hi Dave, You are of course right, but even my petrol engined Gen4 (with 15k scheduled interval) was serviced it on 7.5k with Delo 400. I honestly doubt if mineral oil maintains its viscosity and optimal lubricating and cleaning properties for much longer than that. That said, I'm sure if the OP stic...

Re: Dash fix. What a great experience

Wilhelm, Mitsu fitted dash brackets to my Pajero while it was still under warranty. So they are not opposed to the brackets, but one has to suspect that if you have a dash/radio/navigation type claim, that things could get sticky. And to be honest, that would be fair. I know John, Kurt an Ian are su...

Re: 2006 Pajero 3.2 did swb a/t gearbox

Since the sympton started after the battery terminal was re-connected, why don't you undo and clean that terminal and then carefully re-connect it again. It sounds like a sensor issue as opposed to a real gearbox problem. Also check if rats didn't get stuck into some of the car's wires while you had...

Re: 2008 pajero 3.2 Did service and maintenance

The big secret is to stick to the 7500km oil change interval.
