Re: The story of Casper 3.2Didc GLS LWB 2009
My experience with knocks... If metalling knock... Most probably the bash plates. I've gone through 2 sets of aftermarket plates - heavier and lighter ones. They are still stiffer than the suspension and you end up with bolts stripping and causing flex. I could usually diagnose this easily if you d...

Re: Was Andrew St Pierre White right?? :/
I've got a Gen4.1 (2007) and my father in law has a 2010 (before power update). Was amazed to see the differences is the type of leather used for seats, steering wheel as well as the padding / cushioning for the rear seats... Older paj was way softer / thicker with the cushioning. (also noticed they...

Gen 4 Radio replacement options
Some interesting new units becoming available these days (china imports I suspect)... but they look pretty cool. I'm also keen on the rear cam / wifi / bluetooth dongle integration so I dont have to have a phone measuring the stuff all the time. Anyone had any luck with these? F9846Z Android OS 5.1 ...

Strange loss of power incident(s)
What was the temperature? I've had this happen once ... And it turns out it was a freezing cold night - I let car idle for a minute and all was fine (this happened at around 70k kms, and no issue again up to my current 200k kms. Incidently, it also happenes up in Lesotho at sani top hotel when the g...

Well done Peter! Some good work done here.
Could you do a dyno run and post the results?
Id be keen to see if there is an issue with my power levels.

Re: Ride quality on the Pajero
Anyone tried Tough Dog? Reason for asking: http://www.euro4x4parts.com/images/4wd_action_165_tough_dog.pdf . Seems there are some gains to be made with different shocks/coils even with the monocoque chassis. Hoping something can be done after rattling loose my fillings taking my 2008 LWB GLX throug...

Re: Extended warranty and maintenance plans
I work in the insurance industry - after funeral policies, motor warranty policies are the most profitable for insurers.
My advice would be to take they money you would have paid for the policy and invest it to keep it available should something big fail.

Recommendations for new shocks
I would suggest the best value for money is the standard KYB shocks. Mine lasted close to 200k kms. Not sure about the suspension problems you are referring to - personally it's one of the best and most stable vehicles on gravel I've ever driven. On road it drives like a sedan. My biggest gripe woul...
