Re: Shock Absorber test results and hard ride on small bumps

The bush that connects the strut (coil and shock) to the lower control arm works really hard and tends to wear quickly putting metal on metal. Once changed the car is a lot better. Pretty easy and cheap to do for a competent DIY'er. Remove whole strut, take out old bush and put a new poly bush in fr...

Re: timing chain breakage

As discussed yesterday The breakage was probably due to the top guide failing I have never seen a successful 4m41 rebuild Get an import 4m41 engine (change the guide to the new design and have the oil analysis done and compression check done on engine before buying) and drop that in, or sell the car...

Re: Sortware upgrade for more fuel economy?

The engine is mapped as economically as possible. Your foot may be lighter on the throttle but due to the chip is injecting more fuel. If you want to be more economical, drive more economical. Double check that all these are good Tyre pressures alignment services are done regularly with good oils an...

Re: Adding 2 stoke oil to diesel tank?

Hi all would this work for a mk2 pajero 2800 intercooler turbo. The car is a 96 model and getting on in years. It does not smoke at all when you start or cold start. Just a puff of black smoke but however when you are cruising or take off from stop it pours out black smoke from the exhaust. It's a ...

Re: 2005 Gen 3 3.2 Thermostat

The pajero gauge tends to sit just under middle. Only use genuine thermostats. I have never had a midas or goldwagen one last beyond a couple months. A diesel will never get up to temp if you let it idle with the heater on. Take it for a drive. If the needle settles under half and never moves it is ...

Re: RE: Re: 2001 3.2 Di-D EGR Removal

I am attemting to remove the EGT assembly, but the bolts on the exhaust side is extremely tight. How does one prevent turning the head off the bolts ? I saw elsewhere on the forum that the heads tend to round easily, does that mean the bolts are relatively soft and prone to breaking too. What precauti...

Re: Pajero 3.2 oils and lubricants

I serviced a 3.8 V6 Gen3 last week for the second time. The first service I used shell helix hx5 which exceeds the required specs. The client averaged about 16.5l/100km. The last service I used delo 400 MGX. His first tank after service returned sub 14l/100km. So the first tank savings on a super du...
