Hi all
You may, or may not, have seen that there are some slight changes happening to the website.
I am starting to prepare to do a fairly significant update to the underlying software. The fact is I am 1 full version and a number of maintenance releases behind.
So what I have started to do is:
a) Disable Joomla integration. The forum home page is now the home page, so no content which makes the page look old and static.
b) because I'm removing the Joomla integration, the documents like manuals have to be moved. These are being moved to a forum based document repository. The workshop manuals have been completed thus far. I still have to do the others. If you visit the old links you will be redirected to a new page.
The new version of the forum platform means that the templates will no longer work, so the look and feel will receive a significant overhaul. The site has never been mobile friendly and the google rankings have taken a hammering because of this. I will be adopting a responsive theme which is phone and tablet friendly.
My major concern is that the digest feature is still not available in the new version of phpBB. This means the functionality will not be available. This might be a deal breaker - a LOT of people like this feature.
So, I'll truck along, and depending on work and overseas travel commitments, I'm hoping that I'll be ready to go live with a new version around late July.
Thanks
PS, speaking of workshop manuals, if anyone has more moderns ones to share, please send them to me
