I am a proud owner of a 97 pajero 3000 v6 GLX Manual, my first one ever, well my first mitsubishi ever.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 265000k on the clock and from what I gather so far, well maintained...
Problem is when I go from 2H to 4H gear (shifting when standing still) The car pulls away but after a matter of seconds a loud knocking/thumping sound is heard. I did not do more than 30km/h. Almost like it is not fully engaged in gear??? Still drives though.
I then stopped and changed back to 2H and it still did the same.
Only after switching off the car, it went back to normal in 2H with no problems.
It does them same when shifting to 4L.
What could be the cause?? Hopefully someone has had this before.
