I wonder if the pajeoro and pajero sports dash is similarly constructed/assembled. I have a similar problem with my 2010 pajero sport. I have a squeak/rattle from the centre of the dash just behind the wind screen, where the information display is mounted. When I am parked and a bang my hand on the console I hear the same squeak, so I am 100% sure its from there.

I have failry o.k DIY abilities, but would like to know if anyone can give some tip to remove/open the dash of a pajero sport. Does it require the entire dash to be remove to fix this This squeak slowly me insane so I need to resolve it.

The red X is location of the rattle. Can I remove the housing around the two other arrows?

I can help you out if you are in Joburg, but yes all those panels are installed in a similar way. It takes a special tool and some force but they are removable. Call me if you need some help. 083 604 8455.

That housing can be removed. It takes some force
It has 6 clips if I remeber correctly and you need to pull it Towards you for the clips to release. That sound must be coming from the metal casing around the radio or something,or a bolt holding the radio in place can be loose.

Thanks Kurt, where abouts are you located?

Just an update of the squeak, it is more apparent in the mornings when it's obviously colder. In the afternoons when I leave work, it is gone completely. Next morning, back again.

BIG thank you to JohnG who recently did the dashboard fix on my 2008 3.2 GLX, as well as helping to eliminate some of the other rattles eminating from the luggage area (plastic covers and rear windows). Have travelled 3 corrugated dirt roads since and it is now an absolute pleasure to drive, the difference is just staggering. Keep up the good work and thank you once again!

I also went to KurtG at the end of Jan. What a great guy! Ended up helping me with a few things plus spotted a small leak of what looks like lubricant from my steering.

Unfortunately I've not been able to test the strengthened dash... But so far in the city it's been perfect.

Hi Kurt
Mine that you did still holds well. I see there is nice stainless steel straps available in the market. could be an option if you ever get a strap failure. I see my clock is intermittent, I can set it now and when I look again it has jumped to odd time. Seems like a dry joint or maybe battery backup issues. I will appreciate any constructive advice in this regard.
