I've removed my factory rails though and its a easy bolt on bolt off.
Frontrunner has 2 options a replacement rail and a grab on rails.
I'm not sure if I would mount a rack using grab ons on the factory rails.
There is only a single bolt through the metal portion of the rail. The others are through plastic.

Re: Roof Rack Pajero Sport
Fitted a Frontrunner two weeks ago to my Gen3 and while I waited they explained to me why it is a bad idea to fit the rack that just grabs onto the factory fitted bars . I thought this was a salesman talking again but when they gave my original bars back to me I could clearly see how flimsy those things are . Would not fit a proper roof rack on them and if you do your load capacity would only be 80kg . That is a few bags of wood .
