Lifting spare wheel on Gen 4(NS/BK) Pajero-towing

After discussion with EVH regarding the low tow hitch on the Generation 4 Pajero, I have decided to post the pictures that I have gathered on the net for a spare wheel lifter that will effectively lift the Gen4 Spare wheel. Thus enabling greater access when towing as the rear door can open fully .The lift of the spare wheel will also enable the towbal to be placed higher, which is often needed when towing off road caravans or trailers. The pics came from an Australian Pajero forum and it seems that the part is an approved Mitsu part over there. No such luck here in SA as they could not find the part number on their list here in Gauteng when I enquired some time ago, maybe someone can recheck with the dealers. It should not be too difficult to manufacture something similar if you have the right tools or know a good engineering shop, so maybe some Gen4 owners want to club together and have a batch made up somwhere. Anyway, maybe this can help someone out there.

Howzit guys - KaiV, if there's a few of those going, please let me know cause I'm in desperate need of one too. Mits SA have no clue - I phoned their client care line yesterday and achieved nothing. My local brach sounded completely confused, transferred me from pillar to post, just to, in the end refer me to Safari Centre who also had no idea. So in short I think it is safe to say that this product is relatively unknown in SA ;) - there should be a market for it here, no doubt cause the current sparewheel situation is a bit of a problem (2 more apt words actually spring to mind here  )

You can check if this part is available in Germany and check the costs...it would not be the "first small piece" I somehow imported to RSA

Christo

What thickness you reckon this plate is? I guestimate it around 8mm?

Costs coming

Dont worry about thickness... had a blond moment. Plate will the just over the thickness if the countersink section, allowing for a welding of the csk bolts.
