I decided to make a drawer using Connect-It and some chromadek sheeting for my Shorty. It fits with the seats folded forward and the volume is about the size of two ammo boxes, but you can pack stuff on top.
Total cost for me was about R1300 excl the sliders (I had a set of 800mm furnlock heavy duty slides lying around) and excluding the fabric which I still need to glue onto the box and drawer.

Re: Drawer for SWB Gen4 Pajero
I use one of the bolt holes that holds the seats down, I made an L-shaped bracket that attaches to the back of the drawer so that it won’t tip forward when the drawer opens. I didn’t bother with a mounting point in front (at the back door) as the weight will keep it down and I don’t intend causing such severe up and down movement to cause trouble.

Very nice work, Kurt!
Your build has sparked thoughts along the same lines. I built my previous 4x4 drawer system out of thin steel, because welding aluminium intimidates me.
Is that ali system relatively squeak and rattle free?
Again, this is inspirational stuff here....another reason to love this forum!

Re: Drawer for SWB Gen4 Pajero
Thanks very much.
The connect-it system is completely rattle and squeak free, it takes quite a lot of hammering with a rubber mallet to get the tubing over the connect-it blocks so it’s a very tight fit, and then pop riveting the chromadek onto it ensures zero movement.
Using properly engineered cnc cut and bent steel sheeting is first prize but for R1500 I’m pretty happy.

Re: Drawer for SWB Gen4 Pajero
Looks very nice, how heavy would you estimate it to be? Mine is surprisingly heavy, I guess around 40kg, it could be the fridge sliders and trays.
Coincidentally, I logged on to advertise my system and saw Kurt's post. Not wanting to hijack Kurt's post, but if anyone is looking for a draw system for a LWB with an Engel 40 liter fridge, please give me a shout.
