Had some fun at Killarney 4x4 sorry no pics. I am glad the car is in one peace almost had it on its side. Had some people hanging on the side to add weight for it not to tip.

Replaced the 2 steering rack rubber boots. Took about 2 hours but can do it in an hour. Dealers wants R1300 for a boot but I got generic ones from Midas R170 for 2.

Re: What have you done to your Pajero today?
Yesterday in preparation for our next trip starting on Sunday, I took my Pajero in for a professional cleaning inside and outside. Looks great. This morning I replaced the aircon filter (pollen filter) with a new one - both (old and new) being my modified types where I fitted an Audi pollen filter into the Pajero filter holder. I keep an old used genuine Pajero filter to remind me NEVER to use an original again and always my modified filter. If one compares the quality of the Audi filter element to the Pajero filter, it is like comparing a Pajero to a Russian Lara.

The Pajero is at the panelbeater.
We did a trip to Meob bay in Namibia 5300 kilometers in total from 27 April to 9 May 2017.
Scary moments when the guide read the tide wrong, we were 45 minutes too soon
Beautiful sand and sea
The back bumper cover was removed by the Namib desert, I thought this only happens to the old Gen3.

Re: What have you done to your Pajero today?
Martin,
Isn't that a wonderful trip?
There is a rumour doing the rounds that sea water may lead to minor rust on a brand new Pajero
Was that the Langerwand?
I had seawater shoot all the way over my Pajero's (2000 DiD manual) roof on that section. The following month I was driving my next Pajero. My tail left drag marks all over the desert, but it came home in just about one piece.

Looks like a serious trip with some stressfull moments. Glad you got through OK.
No the rear bumper scoop is still as prevalent as always, even on the gen4. Especially when heavily loaded and doing sand dunes at speed.
Get this made up. Google Pajero rear skid plate and look at the images. I cant seem to be able to attach a pic right now.

Re: What have you done to your Pajero today?
Roelf, I washed the underside of the Pajero with high pressure hoses in Swakop and twice at home and when I get it back from the panelbeater, I will do it again. Yes it was Lange Wand.
Cats, yes I will have to do the skid plates if I am going to do it again.
I said to the wife this was the third long trip in the desert and it is my last time with my own car, you need a "plaasbakkie" or a rental. If it is your own car, your nerves are shot.

I am now in super nostalgia mode.

Kurt,
All I'm saying is that I don't have pics or memories YET.
We're starting a road trip next weekend. I'm stopping near Zeerust for two night, to wring the ears off an Amarok at the Spirit of Africa, and then off to the Southern Cape. We've got a few grave sites to hunt down in the Karoo on the way as well.
