What model / year is your Pajero? 2003 DiD GLS LWB A/T
How much mileage had your Pajero done? 291800 km
Is it the original motor? Original Motor (and other major components)
Any major work? Very few hassles (mostly only routine servicing and replacement of wear items)
  • Rear brake discs replaced every 90000 km (although the last set run for almost 114000 km and were still fine)
  • Electric aerial mast rack stripped at 187000 km (New mast cost R463)
  • Leaking engine oil pressure sender replaced at 190000 km
  • Leaking companion shaft seal on LHS rear. Companion shafts/seals replaced both sides around 240000 km
  • Erratic temperature gauge (this seems to come and go :? )
  • Battery changed every 2 years. Finally fitted a nice and big 650 CR (90 Ah) unit.
  • Alternator belts replaced twice
Sadly, our Pajero was traded in on a normal sedan at 291000 km. Having two four wheel drive vehicles just didn't make sense...

How much did the recon starter motor job cost you?
