Hi Folks,
I'm very new to this forum stuff so please excuse me if i make some mistakes. That said I have a '05 Gen 3 that has a strange shudder/slipping coming from the rear when pulling away. I can only explain noise similar to a tire rubbing on the body. The shudder is more pronounced when pulling away and turning right and also once i have driven for some time and the truck is properly warmed up. I have thought it could be the diff lock but have been told that this would not be the case.
Both R/H CV's have been changed but did not solve the problem.
Looking forward to a possible solution as it is very annoying but also a little disconcerting not know if this is a serious problem.

Re: '05 Gen 3 auto shudder from the R/H rear
I had a problem on a rear brake caliper on my Gen3. The calipers have special bolts that allow the caliper to move as the pads wear. The problem is that these bolts rust and sieze in the caliper if not kept lubricated. Suggest you check yours. Mine was siezed so tight I had to drill a hole in the caliper body and squirt release oil in over a couple of days and it eventually released. If you check yours make sure they are well lubricated with a bit of grease.
