We will be travelling to Kgaligadi early March and will be towing a caravan and I believe towing is not allowed in the Park.
So I am looking to store the caravan for about 7 days near Twee Rivieren from 7 March.
We will be travelling via Kuruman prior to arrival and will be leaving towards Upington
So anywhere on route as we have roof top to use in Park

Re: Advice required- where to leave caravan near twee rivier
Hi,
There is a camping/caravan park in Twee Rivieren. I'm sure that if you negotiate with the officials, that they will allow you to park your caravan at some spot, especially if it not full. Or ask if you can leave it on the parking area at the entrance -- there is ample space.
enjoy the Kgalagadi.

Thanks a lot for your response
Do you know whether the road from Kuruman is tarred?
Should one rather go via Upington?
Dont like gravel with caravan

The road from Kuruman to Twee Rivieren is gravel and although shorter in distance does not save time if going via Upington which is tar all the way.
By the way it is allowed to tow in the park, unless the rules have changed recently??!. I have towed there personally and have seen many a caravan in Nossob and Mata Mata camps, not to mention Twee Revieren. The roads are obviously corrugated but still doable if taken slowly.
There is a lodge not too far ahead of Twee rivieren entrance, Molopo lodge, where you can also camp and possibly leave your caravan if you do not want to take it inside the reserve itself.

Re: Advice required- where to leave caravan near twee rivier
Thanks for the help! Much appreciated!
I have changed my route to go via Upington and have decided to leave the caravan(road caravan) at upington or at Khamkiri where we will be doing river rafting on the orange river near the augrabies falls.
Following your advice we will sleep at Molopo and then just use roof top
Once at augrabies and after river expidtionwe will be touring namibia and should use caravan to good avail and perhaps down west coast back to durban
We are all set and excited to go and as a new caravaneer I have had lots of sleepless nights about taking the caravan or not but we have lots of time and should make well use of it on the rest of the trip
We may even use two months to tour around
Being newly retired!
Thanks again

Re: Advice required- where to leave caravan near twee rivier
No problem, enjoy!
If you are reluctant to tow your caravan in Kgalagadi I would also not take it to Khamkiri!? That road to Khamkiri from the N14, when I was there many years ago, were horrible corrugations!
I am sure you can do it but just take it VERY slow in a normal caravan and maybe let the tyres down to around 1.3 - 1.5 bar to assist in taking some of the bumps.
