Toyota Hilux World Record
This weekend I have been privileged to be involved in the organisation of the Toyota Hilux World Record attempt at Atlantis Dunes as part of the 4WDC. This was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Hilux. It was a brilliant effort and we managed to get 497 hiluxes together, including 3 Arctic Trucks and one of the rally Hiluxes.

I am now thoroughly exhausted but it all starts again at 6:30 tomorrow for the Atlantis Dunes Fun Day organised by the 4WDC.

Oh BTW, I had to recover TWO (yes you read right) Hiluxes just on my way out this evening (ok one got stuck trying to recover the second which was a 4x2). I should have charged R200 a tug plus R500 per beer...

So Simon,

When are you going to get your 'Hilux recovery vehicle' sticker?

Would that make me confident or arrogant? As per this thread https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/sh ... hp?t=71326

To Pajero owners, confident, and to Hilux owners, arrogant.

My boet had a sticker "I'D RATHER PUSH A LANDY THAN BE PULLED BY JAP SCRAP" on his Disco, and when stuck was told to either remove the sticker or start pushing...

Nothing as humbling as realising your arrogance bit you in the backside!
