Hotwater radiator under the dash board
Good morning to all
Last week I had to have a leaking rubber hose replaced. It is one of two pipes which run between the the engine and the "hotwater" heater under the dashboard. I was there when the pipe was taken off and noticed that the nylon/plastic bit protrudingbthru the firewall looker like it had melted in a hot fire? The section onto which the rubber hose was clamped still had it's round shape. A replacement heater box is about R3600.00 from Mitshibushi without installation.
Is this distorsion of the plastic pipes due to old age or did something else cause it to melt. I have now for some time being trying to get rid of possible air in the system which is causing a gurgling sound in the dashboard when starting up and when pulling away when the vehicle has been at a standstill in traffic. Followed the advice from the forum members on this but still no sucess. Could it be that the distored plastic is causing a restriction which is causing the noisy flow of water?
One last question : where can I buy a 2nd hand chrome colured hub cap for my rh side rear wheel? From the agents it is almot R600.00 (eina!)
My vechicle is a 1998 Pajero swb ec multi 3000 v6 petrol

Ben,

The agents at Tyger Valley tried to charge me R800 for a new one, but I managed to find second hand on Gumtree for R80.

I suggest you keep looking on Gumtree - do not limit your search to PAJERO, as the COLT used the same cap for some time. Ghost_traffic imported some via e-bay some time ago - maybe he has some left.

Happy hunting!

Anton
