My mechanic has a problem with high oil pressure on my 1995 3500 v6 auto shogun. not too high when idling but when revving slightly, it shoots up abnormally high. Can anyone help on this problem?

Too high oil pressure can damage an engine as much as to low pressure can. The engine has a blow off valve in the system that should open when the revs go up and the pressure goes too high. It should open in the 5.5 -6.5 bar region if I remember correctly, ask him to check this out and clean or replace the offending part.
Another important reason for using a decent oil as oil with a good detergent quality would help prevent build up of sludge that could hamper the bypass valve.
