I have a 2.5 x 2.5m awning on the pajero and a rooftop tent off the back. I am going to whip up a triangle piece to cover the gap between the side and back, so you can get to the tent/back of truck without getting wet.

I like the rain gutter idea though. may have to see what I can manage.

Try that Ostrich wing up here and it will not only take the roof rack with it, it would take the whole truck.
