Beating Depression at Four Peaks with MORE PIX!
Lately I have been suffering from extreme emotional exhaustion. Last Saturday my wife got involved in a situation where the police came by while I was at work and took my .45 after she threatened to end her life as she felt so useless. I haven’t been making her life easier, as I have had to work more or less every day from the time I get up, to the time I get home when I have to sleep immediately. Well I took most of last week off, encouraged her to spend time with her friends, taught her how to play cricket, and taken her to several movies, but I have not had a chance to relax. The police returned my weapon which now has to be locked in a secret location where she can’t access it, and I have tried to sleep, but I have found nothing cathartic enough to replenish my soul.

So on Saturday, with my wife with her friend at the Phoenix Zoo, I drove off into the Four Peaks Wilderness again, but this time alone. I took two gallons of water, a bag of fried chicken, and my camera.. my friend Tri called before I left Mesa and begged me to come back and get her, even offered money for petrol, and indeed she would have been useful as she can take pictures, but I knew that this needed to be a solo trip.

Hi RV
If you're South African, which I think you are as you have a SA flag on your Padj, the word "VASBYT" is a significantly short and powerful word.
As a foreigner in SA, and having had to undergo military training in the "old days", this word and it's "understood" meaning helped me overcome many an obstacle.
I hope you can find some encouragement and galvanizing encouragement by it, and similar pillars of strength.
:P :P

Great pics too. That area you visited, really has a "energy charging" look to it.

Strength to you

Achille,

Robin is not a South African - he got the sticker from Simon.

Hi Anton

Got you......but it's good to know (and share) the meaning of a "South African Vasbyt" anyways.......

I can vouch (in a limited capacity) that there there are not many other countries ( just a few), that have the same TRUE drive and strength from a similar a word .....!! :P :P

Anton

That might be true but he went and stuck it proudly on the back of his vehicle. That makes him a good yank in my books
