Re: Is there such a thing as mechanical injectors for a 3.2?
OK good info. Thanks a lot guys. It's been very helpful for me. So, I've been browsing the workshop manuals for the 3.2L http://www.mitsubishi-motors.kiev.ua/Ma ... 09/11B.pdf and the 2.8L http://www.mitsubishi-motors.kiev.ua/Ma ... 09/11A.pdf . Under the specifications tab (#1) they have the 4M41 as a dual stage as you guys have been saying and the injectors open in two stages around 2600 psi and then again around 3300 psi, so this engine must also have two intake valves per cylinder, I presume.

The injectors on the 1KZ-T engine opens up once at around 2100 psi, so about 500 psi lower than the first injection of the 4M41 injectors. So, I'm concerned now that the pump may not generate the required pressure to make the Mitsu injectors "fire" Or what do you guys think? Thanks

Re: Is there such a thing as mechanical injectors for a 3.2?
According to the informations I have, MM started the CR in 2003 in Germany and other Markets.
Might be due to some emission laws.
My service manual is for 00-02 4M41 engines, indicating that there must been a change.
Since they didn't change anything in SA it doesn't really matter.

What kind of pump are you planning on?

I am planning on using the mechanical pump from a Toyota 3.0 turbo diesel (1KZ-T). Aparently, the Mitsu 4M40 pump also works, but it requires some modification, and plus I already have the 1KZ pump.

What is your information source, Elmar? As far as I know, there was no common rail 4M41 before 2006. The service manuals are subject to regular updates; this does not necessarily imply a major engine change.

Hi Gerrit, I have my information from our dealership wich goes well with the changes stores likes dieseltuning.co.uk have listed.
You need a particular matter filter for diesel engines in order to get the super green sticker to be allowed into some cities here.
So I tried to get one and guess what..... not for the non CR only for Pajeros 2003 on with CR.
Having 2 cars I didn't care too much about this and never looked further.
I'll dig a little more with your information, maybe there's a way to get a pm filter then.
Re: Is there such a thing as mechanical injectors for a 3.2?
I think we should not confuse the original poster with non-relevant info.

All indications are that the CR version of the Di-D was introduced from the end of 2006.
Before that all 3,2 Di-D engines were injector pump injection.

Re: Is there such a thing as mechanical injectors for a 3.2?
Ok good info. Thanks everyone. So, if I order injectors for a 2002 Mitsubishi pajero 3.2L, i should be getting the correct mechanical ones. I might be able to get them at the local dealership, but to make sure I get the right ones, does anyone perhaps know the part number for these or know of a site where I can look up the number for the whole injector assembly? Thanks

Re: Is there such a thing as mechanical injectors for a 3.2?
Hi guys. I'm still unable to find the part number for the injector for a 2003 Pajero with 4M41 engine. I've downloaded CAPS 4.31, but this model is not listed there. Can anyone help, please? Thanks
