Hi yes,

You get the real cheap stuff, then something better and then the real expensive parts the dealers are selling. More often than not the dealers are selling the same cheaper stuff only with their packaging!

I opted for the middle range lifters as i do not trust the real cheap stuff. The guys at Masterparts assured me they are the same that Mitshu are selling, so, why not.

Anyway my job is finished and i have done around 2000 clicks without problems.

I agree - I want the good lifters at a good price, not the cheap ones at a cheap price :)
Will contact MasterParts when the time is right. Doing the small things at the moment.

Thanks a lot for your input and keep us up to speed as time (and milage) goes by.

Hi Freshman

If you can verify that the lifters are from Japan i would not have a problem with using them. Most car manufactures dont make the parts themselves they outsource and get the best part at there best price.

Should I look for a little lable in the lifter's collar stating "Made in Japan" - haha - sorry it's Friday and I just could't resist.
I had picture of little lifter men resembling those green aliens in Toy Story :)

Thanks - I will try my best to confirm. Probably only changing them next month along with the c/belt, w/pump etc.
Busy with service, tyres, breaks, ATF oil change etc on this month's budget - eish!!

Shake the lifter and put it next to your ear and it will tell you where its from. I better tell you this is a joke before you do yourself some harm. Ha Ha my Friday started yesterday

On a serious note ask your supplier to write on the invoice sourced from Japan if it is from Japan he shouldent have a problem.
