Thanks, Marius. I had never heard of that special edition. I notice the article that you linked does not mention the rear diff lock. Is that standard or was it an after market fitment?

I'm not sure of the specs. I'll send Jean a message and ask him to join and elaborate.

This may seem like a doff question but is the rear diff not hidden away due to the independant suspension in the rear, never seen that as an issue to be honest, the rear bumper though has a few battle scars.

The Jeeps have got good ground clearance though, am a bit envious of that. The Rubicon is a real machine, but wouldn't swap my Paj for it though

The jeeps have more clearance except for the diffs. The pajero diffs sit higher but other than that the jeep has way more clearance.

The pajero gen3 rear diff is fairly protected by the antiroll bar and a strengthening bar but if you glance underneath you will see that it can still be hit by a large rock - possibly if sliding of another rock and then onto a rock where the diff may take the full impact and break - although the pajero diff looks like it's made for tank use

I changed to the 265/75/16 and very happy with the extra clearance this gives albeit very little (+-2cm) it does make a noticeable difference, however does hunt quite a bit more when towing especially on uphils and even slight uphills, but still happy.

Your's a diesel or petrol? I'm also thinking of going to 265/75, but its already hunting more than I'd like at 120km/h.

The towbar is a life saver, call mine the grader, as for the centre silencer box, I see Rexy from Aussie Forum changed his out (see below - very nice setup he has there too), mine does have a few knocks, but OK for now, still many other things on the cards.

I replaced my center silencer with a smaller one and had it mounted a bit higher. It's no longer the lowest point on the car, but there are two problems: The exhaust is much nosier now and the center concole on the passenger side get a bit warm due to the silencer. The heat is ok, but the noise is bad.
