Starter Motor
Morning Gents

Can anybody tell me where I can get a reasonably priced starter motor for a gen2 3.5 V6 In the north west or Pretoria
Re: Starter Motor
What's wrong with your starter?
Can't it be repaired? It is a 'standard' bosch starter, so parts are readily available.

Re: Starter Motor
Try to remove and look for obvious faults first. Those starters are tough and failures are usually remedied at no cost (except labour)

Common problems are corroded contact going to the starter or solenoid or burnt contacts inside the solenoid. Usually a clean is good enough to get it back on track.

Here is my post I made on another forum a while back with regards to removing and checking the mitsu V6 starter motor. Mine was a 3.0 v6 but yours should be almost identical

Not a Bosch and I don''t think it is a standard Paj starter has UNI POINT marked on it.

Re: Starter Motor
possibly part 14046 has broken

Image

That part is made of plastic and can become brittle and break over time - especially with the 3500 V6 exhaust being so close to it

That plastic part swivels and pushes the starter bendix out to meet the ring gear on the flywheel/thrustplate.

Re: Starter Motor
I had my started fully refurbished some time back for no more than R500. Take it to a decent sparky.
