unmatched front and rear dif ratios will have the same effect as discussed in my thread above.If there is then you have a tyre diameter difference or someone's swapped the diff with the wrong ratio and this difference in drive is bogging the car down

Just thought I would post a reply and tell you all how dumb I was asking this question.
Sure, there was a timing issue on the diesel pump, but nothing too serious. The turbo lag is also not too serious. The problem was as it is normally the case an ID10T error.
The vehicle was never in low range.
Thank you 4ePikanini for pointing out the obvious and to jbeez explaining how to get the vehicle into low range. I really feel like an ID10T
Well, now that everything is sorted out (by that I mean my obvious flaw of not getting the vehicle into low range) I can do steep inclines and declines like a dream.
