Tuinvurk hope you are well

I just hope you will give us a complete trip report as my plan is go there in 2013/14 as we are doing quite a trip this year through Richtersveld, Riemvasmaak, Augrabies and the Canyons.
Bad timing though - December

Anyways we will make the most of it

Will definitely - started writing some notes on the planning, but its a bit all over the place.

Im planning a few mods (roofrack, dual bat, watertank for 3rd row of seats area) thats taking up my free time at the moment.

Still looking for some tips on routes from Kaa gate to Jhb over 4-5 days (not via mabua). Have not had much luck on the other forums. Is the transfrontier park not travelled that frequently?

Am chuffed.

Found someone to go with me in March so we're heading out to Khama on 13th, 8 or 9 nights in CKGR (9th night work dependent) and back to Joburg around 22/23.

Am sooooooo looking forward to it now, although have reservations about only being one vehicle, but .... that'll be part of the adventure

How much water to do plan to take to CKGR Karl?

Based on what I've heard on the ohers forums, it looks like you need about 5 liter, per person, per day. This is for drinking, showering.

Hence the reason i'm looking into getting a tank for that space in the rear where the 3rd row of seats go.

Just back from CKGR trip and thought I should let you know I calculated water for 8 nights whereas I should have calculated 5 litres per person per DAY! 8 night stay equals 10 days of water ..... Anyhow - lesson learnt

We used a 55-litre portable tank behind the front seats and it worked great. Balance of water made up in the 5-litre bottles from the shops.

What about some pics? (You might just as well do a bit of a trip report!)

I did a quick trip report with a link to my Facebook pics. It was dry and plenty of grass. Had a big male visit our camp one night (heard him and saw tracks - NO WAY I was venturing out of the covers of my sleeping bag to get a photo . . . . )
