service intervals on DID Injectors
At what intervals should the injectors on a 3.2 DID be cleaned, inspected or replaced?
Re: service intervals on DID Injectors
Not sure what the manual says but I have had mine tested every 100 000km so far.
2009 Pajero 3.2 DiDc Lwb GLS (Gen4) - Casper (Starting to grow on me)
2001 Pajero 3.2 DiD Lwb GLS Manual (Gen3) - Snoopy (SOLD but not forgotten)
2008 Pajero 3.2 DiDc Lwb GLS Auto (Gen4) - Silvester (SOLD)

Re: service intervals on DID Injectors
Hi Cats,
Thanks, what was the condition after 100 000?
Mine is down on power and heavier on diesel(84 000 km) after I ran out of diesel because of faulty fuel gauge ; want to have the diesel pump tested as well

They were slightly out of spec at 100 000km and was replaced under extended motorplan. When I had them tested again recently at 200 000km they were still good and no further work was done. Apparently there is almost only one place in SA that can test the diesel pump and injectors on these DiD engines and that is Alan Black in Johannesburg. They have the equipment to do the tests.

Re: service intervals on DID Injectors
Good question, I had my pump and injectors tested by Alan Black at 650,000 km for the first time and they apparently are within specifications. The paj does not smoke and the fuel consumption is the same as when it was new,
approx 10.5 to 11 liters per 100km. I beleive you should only check your injectors if engine smokes excessively or if there is loss of power , excessive fuel consumption. You may find that the problem may be due to one injector only if
your mileage is less than 200,000km.

Can you elaborate on what fuel you used and whether you used 2-stroke or additives every now and again?

I have always used 500ppm diesel ( mostly BP ), additives never used , fuel filter replaced every 20,000km ( original mitsubishi filters always used ).Engine oil used is Caltex delo 400.
