Changing idle rpm on 2001 3.2did
Hi

Is there a diy method of increasing the idle rpm speed? I recently fitted a an oil pressure sensor to my madman ems. The pressure drops below .5 bar for a few seconds when releasing the throttle fully when stopping a stop sign etc & keeps triggering the low pressure alarm.

Even set it lower to 0.3 bar, but alarm is still triggered. My idle is currently at about 800rpm. I want to increase it to 900rpm, as has much better oil pressure with foot slightly on the accelerator. Do not see the use of having a sensor if have to set it at 0.1 bar not to trigger alarms.

Otherwise i will have to wait for the next service...

the idle can not be adjusted. It is electronically controlled by the ecu.

The only thing you can check is the TPS and the idle butterfly setting. Alternatively you can disconnect battery for 2 hours to reset idle and then the car will take a few days to relearn the idle setting.

Petrol TPS adjustment attached - I believe it's the same for the diesel.

Thank you. Very informative. Think it must be the idle throttle position vacuum issue. Can its influence be changed? When I come to a stand- still at intersection, oil pressure and idle drops as low as 0.2 bar and 600rpm and then recovers to 0.3bar & 800 rpm within less than a second. Is above 0.5 bar at 850rpm allready. Big drop off in rev happens immediately after take foot of accelorator, and then recovers, but long enough to trigger the low pressure alarm

Had tps sensor error code once about 2 services ago, but never happened since.

Will first do battery disconnect memory clear and then see
