I have had a similar scenario where my overflow bottle from my radiator has filled up but the engine gauge has not budged above the position it normally sits at.
Did changing these T-pieces sort your problem out?
Thanks.

check that the overflow bottle's cap pipe that goes down into the overflow bottle is attachedTranskeicowboy wrote:I have had a similar scenario where my overflow bottle from my radiator has filled up but the engine gauge has not budged above the position it normally sits at.

Also consider replacing the pressure cap on the radiator itself.

Thanks guys have checked the pipe in the bottle is attached and have replaced the radiator cap. I have ordered the T-pieces and am collecting 2 this morning but still waiting for the third (which had to come from imperial apparently).
Will fit the T-pieces next week which will hopefully sort this out........

Hi all,
Eventually got my T-pieces back a a cost of one can of Coke
They are butifully made from solid brass ... I'd hate to know what the real cost was ...
Will be fitting on the weekend.

can I ask if all of you who have replaced these t-pieces drive GLS models? I have a GLX and according to the search done for me by Ronnies (who supply these goods in EL) my vehicle does not have these t-pieces in the system.
My mechanic and I have looked for them under the car and couldn't find any and that is why I went back to the suppliers to check on their diagrams. They found the parts and where they do fit in a Pajero heating system fo rthe rear heater but when did teh search with my VIN number nothing was shown.
So does the GLX not have a rear heater only a rear cooling system with aircon?

Redvers asked for the dimensions ... I attach my very profesional drawing and just wish to make a couple of clarifications the shop asked me:
- Dimensions are "more or less" but good enough
- The 15 and 18 dimensions refer to the "lip diameter", with 13.8 and 16.8 being the actual outside diameter of the tubular parts
- The internal dimaters are 10.0 and 12.5 respectively
- The length of the 13.8mm leg is +/- 32mm

Hi all.
I ran into trouble with one of these t-pieces on my 2000 Gen 3 3.2DiD. It cracked and progressively got worse. A friend of mine who is a farmer & engineer helped me remove it, and it fragmented into pieces while we did so.
I live in Graaff-Reinet, so tried Maritime Motors in PE for a spare. They tell me I need to buy a hoe kit for R1,800 excl VAT! My friend and I went to look at the co-op here in town and cam back with a plastic irrigation 20mm - 15mm reducing t-piece. The 20mm tubes were forced into the rubber hosing which is I believe about 18mm inner diameter. The 15mm tube was an easier fit. These were clamped in place with hose clamps.
Thus far it all seems to be watertight. my only concern is to what temperature these plastic irrigation parts are tolerant. The OEM part is not impressively rigid so I can't imagine that these could do much worse.
Will post a pic.
Cheers,
Scott.
