Engin oil
HI Guys

My 2006 3.2 DID is out of her maintenance plan and I decided to do the oil changes myself. The Mitsubishi garage used Shell HX5 as engine oil. With the first oil change I switched to Shell HX7 synthetic oil. It is due for another oil change and I am not too sure if changing to Shell HX7 was a good thing. It seems as if the engine is more noisy at startup when cold. It has a "noisy tappet" sound. After a while it quiets down.

What oil do you guys use and any comments shall be appreciated

Herman,
I'm with Marius on this one. I even ran my previous 3.8V6 on it after the maint. plan expired.

Thanks for the feedback. From other feedback as well it seems as Delo is the answer.

Keep an eye in Midas, they have nice specials on the Delo 400 from time to time. It's worth buying a few cans when the price is right.

No one recommending Castrol GTX deisel ? It's a high detergency engine oil. Why not ?

Poor oil pressure ?

It could be a good oil, but why does it not have the reputation (especially with fleet owners) of Caltex Delo400 ?

I used to think oil is oil is oil, until I did some research. There are good oils and then there are better oils.

The price difference does not justify the 'cheaper' oil.

Sorry 4eP, you might have answered this in a previous post (can't find it though), but why is Delo400 better than the much more expensive synthetic oils?
