I have a Pajero 3.0 V6 Gen 2 and Colt 3.0 v6 with same 6G72 12V engine as Pajero. Colt started missing and struggling as if not getting enough petrol or when running empty. This started intermittently and became worse untill I could not drive it anymore. I checked spark and went as far as replacing air intake manifold gasket. Also checked petrol and could see injectors squirting nicely in intervals. Long story short I started to take parts from working and running smoothly Pajero and swopping it with Colt. I know the EMS water sensor can act up and cause such behavior so I swopped that with Pajero. No difference. Left it for a couple of days and swopped more sensors including water temp switch and temp gauge sensor.
Joy above joys the Colt started and after giving one miss ran smoothly. Problem found, in my view to be water temp switch. I returned the "faulty" water temp switch to pajero just to make sure it was indeed the fault. It was since Pajero now struggled to run. Biggest MISTAKE to make. Took it out and put original Pajero temp switch back in Pajero as well as other parts borrowed for Colt.
I'm crying as I write this but Pajero now sick with Colt's cold. I have since got a new water temp switch and EMS water sensor in Pajero and yet the symptoms stay. Colt is running fine with Pajero's water temp switch. Pajero backfiring and miserable as if timing is out.
I have tried to reset the computer box and checked that there is power to EMS sensor. Still no go.
All I can think is computer box got bad reading from faulty switch and is now confused. Is there another way to reset the computer box other than disconnecting battery (left overnight) and reconnect.
What else to do?? i am at wits end ..
