I own a 2003 3.2 D-ID Pajero and the diesel pump has packed up. It was sent to Alan Black in Springs via the agents and was told that the cost to repair would be R39000.00 as the casing was damaged. A new pump I believe is about R38500.00 excluding labour. I can purchase a complete 2007 wrecked Pajero for almost the same price. I want to know whether it is at all possible to fit the motor from that vehicle in to my vehicle?
2007 is the changeover year.
If its the gen3 then yes you can swap the engine. If its the gen4 then a lot more electrical work is required.

Consider going the Lexus V8 conversion route. Overall cost seem to be under R 20 000, way under the service cost of the diesel pump!

The vehicle I can purchase is the common rail D-ID. Would that be the gen4?4ePikanini wrote:2007 is the changeover year.
