I recently had some electrical malfunctions on my 1999 3.5 GLS and had the vehicle at the agents in east London for repairs. I was told that spare parts for these older vehicles are not available and just about everything that had to be replaced was an issue. Where do you guys manage to get replacement parts for these older vehicles??

some things like service parts can be found at midas but repair parts have to come from alert engine parts or the dealer.
PS : Sometimes the dealer is cheaper than midas but other times not.

I don't necessarily agree that the parts are scarce. I spoke to Mitsu Paarden Island and thay said Mitsu have committed to spares availability of minimum of 20 years since the vehicle's MY. They said they (Mitsu SA) will always have stock of critical components, but stuff that isn't that important might have to be ordered from Japan. Admittedly I haven't put this to the test but they have always been very helpful.
Also remember that vehicle manufacturers put vehicles together - very few of them build components, so more often than not you can find equivalent parts that work.
