Baie help volle onderwerp. Thanks!! Ek Wil my 2001 DID 3.2 die naweek doen.
Het Castrol GTX Turbo Diesel olie gekoop. Sal dit fine wees?
Some say it is fine.

I would not.

There are just to many reports of sludging with Castrol oils (is that the correct spelling ? )

Why not spend a bit more money on an oil about which there is NO argument, such as Caltex Delo400 or Shell Rimula.

Um. Ek moet bieg, my golf 3 gediens en toe ek hier by 9l olie kom en dit wys nognie op die dipstick nie......

Duur en morsige les, nou diens ek my voertuie kaalvoet sodat ek die olie kan voel

Install sump plug and new washer....torque to 39nm......must say...this is tighter than what I would have done without a torque wrench.

Re: Gen3 3.2 DiD Oil Change
Ok, second time around not so lucky.....stripped sump bolt. Now I really don't trust midas torque wrenches.

I need some advise please....is this a serious problem, as in fix before driving, or can I at least drive to work and then indie (approx 50km) or is it ok to drive to barbertin this weekend and sort when I get back? Will check oil levels all the time, but I'm afraid to drive at all.

Any idea what the solution is to this mess. Replace sump? Cost involved?

Why o why did I want to change the oil before the barberton trip........

cloyd wrote:Hi guys,

By changing the oil in your engine yourself can/will/may be the entrance to bigger things. Well done for taking the first step in the right direction!

I shall make the following offer to any first time Pajero DIY owner that is willing/able to visit my house in Pretoria: I will asist you in changing oil(s) and filters (basically guide you - you will be doing the actual work and I shall instruct you on how to do it). You can also include gearbox and diffs oils if you like with the one proviso: no pre-stripped bolts or plugs.

Interested owners can contact me anytime.

Cloyd,

I'd like to up the offer if it still stands ? I'm new enough that I cant send a PM yet :(

I was going to book at mitshpro this morning when I saw the post.

I need to do service 150k service - oil/filter + but it seems I also need to do the front and rear diff and transfer case - these should have been done on 135k km but seems they weren't

Synthetic oil is overkill and not necessary for the 4m41 motor, just stick to 15w40 caltex DELO 400.
