Re: Noob from polokwane
Hi Cats

I'm also hoping on the pajero soon! Hope you had a good weekend? I've added the below background to give you a bit of info on Geared 4 Life.
Geared for Life is an adventure organization that was born out of two young men’s love for God and nature. Willem Engelbrecht and Eugene van der Walt were typical young boys that always dreamed to explore and were always on the lookout for an adventure. Unfortunately, like many young men, this search for adventure did not always lead us in the right direction.
Later in life we discovered the adventure that we were looking for all along. We discovered God, His plan for our lives and all the incredible way in which He created nature and the fact that it was all there for us to enjoy. This was what we have been looking for all those years, and now we are enjoying that adventure with a passion.
After spending many years fishing, enjoying hiking trails and rafting, a dream was born to also give other young men the same exposure to this adventure.
Geared for Life (G4L) was then established to give a name to these dreams. These dreams basically entail giving young men the exposure to an adventure and God.
Various individuals and organizations with the same passion have made contact with us through time to support G4L in making these adventures possible for young men.
Our previous camps have all been held in parys next to the vaal river. We had our first camp in Limpopo about a month ago and we took the boys tubing, canopy touring and hiking. It was an awesome experience and I think we enjoyed it more than the boys :D As soon as I figure out how to attach pics, I will upload a couple of the photos.
The reason why we offer this for free to the boys is because both Willem and I did not grow up in homes where money was freely available to enjoy these types of things. I remember being the only boy in Grade 10 that could not go on veldskool trip due to lack of funds...We decided that we dont ever want a boy not to be able to go on such a camp due to lack of funds! this does not mean the camps are exclusively for the less advantaged.
Hope this info is helpfull.
If anyone wants to know more about this, they can contact me at geared4life0@gmail.com.
Thanks for the interest Cats!
