Hi all, I drive a Gen2 with 3.2 conversion. Returning from Botswana today via Platjan Borderpost, I noticed a blowing whistle sound when the vehicle is pulling (i was pulling a trailor) I stopped a Polokwane and inspected all the turbo pipes and all seemed fine. The closer I got to Pta the worse it got, when driving normal it is almost gone but the moment I accelerate it is their > a hard blowing sound. Any suggestion what this can be?
Take a close listen to your intercooler, it is situated close to the bash plate and is prone to being damaged.
A quick fix to a small hole is Pratleys putty, mine has lasted over 50 000km with no problems.
A small hole will cause some loss in power due to decreased pressure in the system.

Hi Man
Sorry, but, that sounds like the exhaust gasket. The more you accelerate, the increase in pressure results in a high pitched whistle.
Good luck..

Just had my Turbo serviced and have noticed the same Was assured that it was "noral" Hey Alwyn, where do you stay/work? Maybe we can get together and compare whistles!
If you can feel the grass between your toe's, your flying too low!
