Hallo
When starting my '04 DID this morning the engine management light, traction control light and traction control off light came on. I drove about 500m with the engine in limp mode and smoking profusely. I stopped and switched off the engine. When I started again the lights were off and the engine were running smoothly. Can someone perhaps assist. I want to know what could have caused this???
Thanks
You need to get the fault codes read by someone with a MUTT tool or do a search and do the diy fault codes reading without a MUTT tool. This will give you some idea as to where start looking.

Cats,
I find this topic most interesting, excuse my ignorance but, what do you mean by" do a search and do the diy fault codes reading without a MUTT tool"
This might just come in handy some day.
Thanks
Andre.

Here is the link that explains how you can check your own error/fault codes on a gen3 or gen4 Pajero without a MUTT tool.

my 07 DID engine management light came on over the long weekend. I drove another 50km home all seemed fine with no lose of power.
I checked engine fluids the next day and everything looked fine
I dont have an MUTT tool to check the diagnostics and im uneasy with checking it using a piece of wire as explained in another post
With my luck I might blow the engine management up.
So, can anyone assist with me with finding the fault or should I take it to a stealer?
oh yes, Im in Benoni.

The DIY procedure seems quite safe and I have used it myself often on two different cars. Just make sure you get the right pin points. I'm afraid its DIY or "Bars en betaal". You take your pick. Alan Black in Benoni will test (diagnose)it for free.

The engine management light mysteriously went off . Thank you Pajero fairy for sorting that out
