4. Home Language:
Engels

5. Occupation/Business:
Sparky

6. Family Status:
Married with 2x 20_something kids that are running around other parts of the planet [Peru and British Virgin Islands]. So the Mrs and I can get out and about a bit now.

7. Membership Of Other 4X4 Clubs & Forums:
4x4 Community [fresh member like here].

8. Current 4x4:
2006 Pajero 3.2 Di-D LWB [160,000km]

9. Current Modifications: None completed but several on the go;

A. I have removed the 3rd Row seat and am busy installing 160L compressor, 100ah deep cycle batt with basic home made charging system off the alternator, 1200w inverter/charger - I will also put day to day emergency gear in here. Put the cover back on and it's like it's not there at all.

B. I have purchased spacer kit from Stofpad and RideRite air helpers from Air Spring Supply Co, I will be installing these together with new Monroe shocks in the next week or two [the original shocks are completely shot].

C. I have designed a slider system using the full rear space that I will build and install over December [the system will be removed and 2nd row reinstalled when not in use]. Includes space for 2x ammo box and 3x small Big Jim crate on the slider - 80L fridge on a platform in front of slider between the passenger doors [where 2nd row would be].

10. Modifications On The Wish List:
A. Roof rack from Front Runner on which I will mount my existing RTT, gas bottles, spare fuel and water. The RTT it is a lekker big one from Tentco at 1600 wide and I sleep like a baby in it.

B. Replacement front and rear bumpers from Maniac, but I have to get the vehicle to Slaapstad for 10 days to get it installed so that will have to go on the back burner for now :(

11. Vehicle(s) On The Wish List:
When I am finished with my Paj mods I will have everything that I could wish for.

12. Previous 4x4s:
2003 Mazda Drifter 2.5TD DC,
1995 Isuzu 2.6 LWB [still using in my business with 450,000km on the clock! Very thirsty but impossible to break]

13. Last 3 Offroad Trips:
Did the odd Moz and Namibia trip, then in 2009 my wife and I spent a year travelling Africa in the Isuzu mentioned above - visited Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Tanz, Zanzibar, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Lamu Island, then all the way down hugging the coast of Kenya, Tanz, Moz - it was a blast. Camped the whole way except for 10 day hotel break in Malindi (Kenya).

14. Favourite Destination:
Namibia - because the awesome scenery and stunning colours makes you think you are a great photographer!
Uganda - cause the people are friendly, Murchison Falls is one of the nicest parks I have ever been to, and the [beef/goat/surprise] sosaties that they sell on the side of the road for R2 are GREAT!

15. Other Hobbies:
Some flying, messing around with PC's, dozing on the lazybooi.

16. GPSr & Map Data Used:
Garmin Nuvi 760, T4A, Garmap SSA

Re: Greetings
Mark,

Welcome here and we all hope you enjoy your Pajero as much as we enjoy our's.

I agree with Tom :D

Also, I can already foresee that your technical skills will be tapped into by many of us.

Regards
Roelf
Re: Greetings
Thanks guys.

Already enjoying the Paj and I hope to nurse it through to 500,000km like the Isuzu. Not sure Swambo is enjoying it as much because every time I show her another brochure all she can see is her retirement date moving out another year.

Ah well, you cant take it with you...
