10ppm Diesel Feedback
Hi Folks,

While filling up at my usual Sasol, I noticed that they are now using 10ppm Diesel.

Anybody else tried it? Apparently it has great lubricity (marking material...)

I've not been able to notice a difference in engine noise, startup delays, etc... But have only done about 50km. We report more after this tank.

Re: 10ppm Diesel Feedback
I have filled up with 10ULS the last two tanks, fule consumption has improved by 0.5 l/100km. This might be attributed to the quieter highways since the launch of the e-toll and less traffic
No other difference noticed, but should be kinder on the injectors and pump

Heck, 10ppm :o I'm sure I can even use it in my car :P

Seriously though, have you guys seen any lubricity test results.

Remember the low sulphur doesn't protect the pump or injectors - it does protect your oil and the atmosphere. Pump and injector issues are caused by contaminated diesel or low lubricity.

No feedback? Living in Mozambique I only sáw this by accident... Do we need to add more 2SO now???

2SO and sulphur content is not really relaed, in MHO.
The major advantage of adding 2SO to your diesel is to remove and prevent carbon build-up.
Lubricity is a second benefit.

Re: 10ppm Diesel Feedback
I realise this is a bit off topic, but what 2SO are you guys generally using? 2SO's are either petroleum, vegetable, semi-synthetic or synthetic types. So which one should I be adding?

Re: 10ppm Diesel Feedback
General agreement is that mineral oil based 2SO is the best to use.
I am not to fussed about which mineral one (been doing it for 30+ yrs on both petrol and diesel engines).
Apparently the synthetic version does not mix so well with diesel.
Ratio: 1:200 (2SO:diesel)

Re: 10ppm Diesel Feedback
99% of 2SO is mineral based.
I just ask to see the bottle, on which it will say if it is mineral or synthetic oil.
