Hello to all you fellow Paj owners ,be it old or new ,petrol or diesel, We all own a little piece of awesome. We lived and worked in Botswana for 2.5 years and had to buy one of the cheap jap imports which soon became 2. Mine the lwb 3.5 v6 GDI then my Wifes 1.8 3 door IO GDI. The amount of good times camping ,travelling and just having good "dirty" fun with both vehicles I can not tell.
Unfortunately we had to sell the baby GDI and will soon get another. Now we only have the Big "Bossewa" which is having some major Heart surgery but should be up and running again soon.
Apart from holidays as a leisure vehicle I use the 3.5 GDI to play with my buddies who drive Gelandewagen ,Jeep and Oldschool Hilux .I believe to own a 4x4 and not use it is a waste. We love pushing our vehicles to hair raising levels and getting dirty. My only shortcomings are my crappy bumpers which will be sorted out this year .
When in Botswana I fitted a full Ironman suspension and sacrificed my adjustable soft ,medium ,hard shocks .At first I was heartsore because the ride was very hard but after a while and after doing some serious offroading the Ironman showed its Muscle ,making the bush its home.
For those Pajero owners who have never made use of the Super select setting on dirt roads ,you dont know what your'e missing. Both the 3.5 and the IO were born to own dirt. Look at Pajero history with the DAKAR .
After having done some wierd "and stupid" stuff with the Paj I cant believe how strong they are.
Sorry to rant and rave but I'm hooked.
We live and work in Pretoria and are both mid fourties"sounds old" but now we are old enough and have done enough to really enjoy life without having to impress anyone .
As the old saying go's "One life ,live it!!!!!!!"
