Visited Ithala game reserve on the weekend. My Pajero’s engine light came on when going slow downhill on 4h not low range. I did think its something to do with the brakes. All I had to do is switch off and on and the light was off.
Back home and I did the diy test that gave me code 41 on the engine light. Is this for main throttle solenoid valve? Is this something to worry about?
I also had the ABS light flashing 21 – Right front speed senor.

Error code 41 as you state refers to the main throttle butterfly. This butterfly has 2 actuators on it, above & below. One is used to close the throttle completely under shut-down to reduce shudder and the other to partially close the throttle to assist the EGR in operation under part throttle conditions when the engine is warm and for a quieter idle.
Possible causes:
1. Perished vacuum hoses
2. Sticky solenoid valves
3. Mis/mal-adjusted set screws on the butterfly valve actuator arms
4. Gummed up valve (EGR & PCV gas deposits combining)
See 4epikaninis post on the correct operation of the valve under shut-down here:

I will speak to my mechanic. I just think should I fiddle if this only happens once a year if I go inland. I don't seem to get this at the coast.

I will check the valve and inlet for carbon build-up.I have read that the carbon build-up can create heat spots causing hols in pistons
Don't know if it's relevant but once had my throttle solenoid give up completely, car belched smoke and had 10% power. Not something one would want to experience while on holiday.
A while after that was replaced the solenoid arm was loose due to a broken clamp (circlip), dealer wanted to do expensive (R10-60k) work on engine bits.
Kudos to SAC for just finding the loose clip on the throttle body arm and not even charging me.
