6G72 Motor and 5spd manual gearbox for sale
Good day ladies and gents! I have a 3.0 V6 6G72 motor and gearbox for sale. I bought a Gen 2.5 SWB with the intention of fitting a Lexus V8 so I wasn't too perturbed about the motor that was in at the time and I found one in Somerset West that had both exhaust manifolds cracked (immediately had them repaired) but good power and reliability. Noticed later that valve stem seals also need replacing but otherwise the motor is strong. Got me safely home 600km away and then back to Cape Town for the conversion. At the moment its sitting at a mates warehouse in his trucking business between Paarl and Brackenfell and quite honestly I would just like to see it go to a decent home rather than gather dust. Gearbox and clutch are perfect, as is the starter motor, alternator, fuel injection etc. Mileage was 260k when I did the transplant.

R2600 or 2 cases of Captain Morgan Dark and it's yours :) Must collect though. PM me here and I will put you in touch with my mate if interested.

Hi!
Gerhard here... I'm not interested in the engine & gearbox as mine is still going fine at 308000 km. I'm more interested in your new transplant... my engine is using 2 litre oil per tank petrol, so I will have to do something in the near future.. May I ask the following questions?:
*How far are you with the lexus conversion?
*Is it a big story to fit a lexus in a gen2?
*Expected cost?
*Why a different gearbox? Did you go Auto?
*Do you keep the transfer box ratio the same?

Re: 6G72 Motor and 5spd manual gearbox for sale
Hi Gerhard!
No problems at all.

The conversion is complete. It was done for me by a crowd called Gensis Automotive in MIlnerton, Cape Town... What is most disconcerting is that they have completely disappeared!! Off face book, website closed.... rather scary.

My conversion however went really well and although it is a lot of work ( Custom engine mountings, BMW 740i Radiator fitting, 2" body lift for clearances, Spitronic management system and dyno tune, exhaust fabrication etc) it was well worth the effort and money!
It cost me R50k to have it done and I supplied my own motor and gearbox.
I opted to use the Lexus Autobox just in case the extra power was going to wreck my Pajero box :o Also used the Pajero transfer box and Genesis made up special adaptor plates and things to make it all happen so that my 4x4 still works, low range and all.
The power is awesome, the sound is addictive but just a word of caution: if you're trying to improve your fuel consumption then you are heading in the wrong direction. People claiming 10km/l with a Lexus V8 are likely getting petrol fumes in the cabin that are hampering their calculations. Truthfully I would be delighted to get 6km/l in town and 7 or 8 on the open road are fairly realistic.

If however you are wanting a FUN vehicle that is kinda different and kicks some ass then you have come to the right place :D
Loving the V8!

Re: 6G72 Motor and 5spd manual gearbox for sale
Thanks for all the info Mal!
Look very interesting... But too expensive for me....and no gain w.r.t. fuel consumption.
I will have to stick to repairing my old engine...
Thanks anyway and I hope you enjoy your V8!

Hi There

I have a Gen 3 2001 manual gearbox, transfer case and front shaft for sale complete.

I blew my head gasket. I still have a few odds and ends lying around like the diesel pump / injector
