Ok .... so finally fitted the adapter to my Pajero and still playing with the setup

However, where can i get a comprehensive list of the codes? When i check the fault codes on the Torque app, it gives me the following:

• P1782 [Mitsubishi] Gear 4 incorrect ratio
  P1783 [Mitsubishi] Gear 5 incorrect ratio
  U1120 [Mitsubishi] Engine (CAN message)

The CEL light does not come on, gear change is smooth and no other warning lights come on. The guys from Kaufner who fitted my chip some years back did a check prior to my fitting the adapter and according to their tool, no codes came up .... Could this possibly be 'red herring' with the app itself?

Looks like you will now have to replace both engine and gearbox to satisfy the device
I sometimes wonder if there is such a thing as too much info.

In the Aussie forum there is a reference to a 'network error' when both the the App and the engine are starting, and the solution was as follows:

When I did some reading online I discovered that it's an easy fix, you just have to change a setting in the Torque app from "automatic protocol" connect to some other one.

Did you find this setting? I cant find any obvious protocol settings in the Torque app at all?

Yes. I did find this protocol and also experienced an CEL before I set it correctly. I will find the codes and post it here as well for prosperity but currently touring so signal coverage is patchy at best so I am for all practical reasons off- grid. Will post when I am back on my bum and fully connected.

I suspect you are on yer bum and connected. Now PLEASE tell us all the secrets of the tranny temps. I know for a fact that all my ideas on what- and what-not to do with those wonderfull boxes do not include emperical data of temps.

Still not totally back on the grid. Still haning a bit low.

Temp on the autobox was always well below dangerous levels while towing at speed. I have also adjusted to the kick down required for some hills to get it into the right gear. I did however notice 2 things:

At slow speeds going up gravel mountain passes towing, less than say30km/h, it gets hotter than it should if you leave it in high range. Rather hook Low range and it quickly cools down.

I also measured engine temps well over 100degC quite often on the app while the dash temp meter only lifts slightly to just over 50%. I suspect a big safety margin and leaneance(sp?) factor is build into the dash display.

Here is what you need to do to get the transmission temp to work correctly:

 Ok go to Torque home screen and click on bottom Left Hand menu, then select settings, then, select Manage extra PIDs/Sensors. Now select menu in top right hand corner, then add predefined set, then Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Mercedes, then Transmission Fluid Temp (GM Method 1). Now a screen will come up options for: Trans.FI.Tmp and select Edit, now edit it

Cool. So what does the temp readings tell you? I find that the transmission is usually about 20degC lower than the engine coolant temp, except when really worked hard then they creep closer to each other.

Also. My car feel somewhat flat("pap"), to me anyway, so I am trying to determine if it is boosting as it should on the turbo. Please keep some tabs on your boosting readings for a while - please. I would like to exchange notes at some stage on this.
