Did a 100km trip today. Trans temp was in the 60s the whole time, engine coolant was at about 80 - 90 and boost was max at 12...... Must say i was only cruising along.

I couple of years ago I had the flu. My wife, to this day, thinks I'm a "sissy", because I was forever checking my temp. Not true, I'm a real Camel Man, I was just trying to see how different "conditions" affected my temp. Imagine the fun if I had had an OBD2 socket and an App?

But seriously, I want to hear all. Cats, you even mentioned posting graphs a while ago.

Roelf - I am still playing around and experimenting with the features, and trying to understand what they all mean. Still GREAT FUN!!!.

I must say, one of my issues is the fact that my phone does not last very long on battery power when using the app, even when plugged into the 12v usb port it looses battery power until it eventually dies. But then again maybe running the screen full time, swapping Bluetooth data with the OBD2 port, playing my music thought the aux port, linking to my Parrot Bluetooth handsfree phone set, PLUS running Google maps on the phone GPS is not within the design parameters

Anyway - Modern day problems Hey What did we do before smart phones!!! My kids will not believe me!

Hello. So my 2006 gen3 DiD wont be compliant...?

I tried some google but it seems it depends which market the vehicle was intended for. I. E. Aus market was from 2007 onwards.

Anyway to know for certain?

Hi

I picked up on this couple of months old thread. I just started playing with OBD2 scanner and was hoping to compare some values.

Let's see if we can revive this thread:

I have the Gen4 DiD Pajero.

Slightly disappointed as it seems Mitsu blocks many readings but the basics can be read.

The more useful parameters I am currently able to read include:
- Coolant temp
- Air flow
- Intake air temp
- Manifold pressure
- Rail pressure

Question now is, from readings one gets, are they within normal operating ranges or not?

I was hoping to compare a few readings so I will post what I have thus far.

I'm using the following: ELM327 wifi OBD2 adapter and the EOBD Facile iPhone App.

My own readings recorded thus far (Gen4 DiD Pajero):

Cruising at 100-110 km / h for about 20km in ambient temp of around 25•C.

Coolant temp: 60•C

Intake air temp: 40•C to 55•C

Manifold pressure:
- Idle at 0.84 bar
- Cruise around 1.25 to 1.35 bar
- Put foot: up to 1.70 bar

Rail pressure:
Cruise: roughly 1250 bar


I don't know what normal ranges are: still doing research and hoping for some comparisons here.

The one parameter I'm slightly worried about is coolant temp. That seems too low.

I will start monitoring and recording a few of my figures as well. We must just make sure we use the same measurement, ie DegC, DegF, Bar, Psi etc where relevant, otherwise it makes it a bit messy to compare because one would need to do some conversions first.

I will set mine to use the same as your listed figures and take some readings over the weekend.

Just quickly.

I did a short trip yesterday. It was pretty cold and rainy ambient around 17degC and I was towing a 3/4 ton trailer. Coolant temp was about 82deg C consistently. I forgot to check intake temp but transmission temp was about 20 degC cooler at 62degC.

I also measure boost and MAF readings if you want to compare those.
