GUys i have a real dilema here, i cracked two pistons on my 2001 did,we replaced them both assebled the engine set the timing tappets etc, previously the engine started fine on on ly the two pistons that werent crake but idled rought, so me and the mechanics are stumped as to whiy it wony even give a hint of firing???? if i spray quick start directly into the intake it fires and runs for as long as the spraying is going,if i stop spraying quick start,it simply dies with no intention of firing , what on earth is wrong here?? please help me. jean 0835030307
Solved!! so thanks to a late night call from a total stranger aka Peter Pots,he solved my mystery for me and the other mechanics,after we spent an enormous amount of time re stripping the whole front of the pajeros engines off(not for the faint hearted!) setting the timing marks on everything,to our horror we no fire! Peter words were "your timing is a 180 degrees out!" so back we went for a 3 rd strip down,but instead we lined everything up "0" on the crank,on our marks on the cams,made sure we were rocking on 4 and no 1 piston was TDC,we then tooke the cams off after carefull marking the 180 degree otherside,flipped them over 180 degrees,put them back,redid the tappet clearances,and PRESSTO!!! half a turn and she roared into life!! So thank you Peter Pots, a man who stresses "the basics" is where we start!! On the road ,two new pistons in,happy days!! ps..giing to get my injetors done as soon as i can they were the initial culprits!!!! 
A word of caution on the injectors. New copper washers must be fitted where they seat down inside the head. Be careful not to overtighten the injectors. Torque them to specified amount. The injector body is prone to distortion if overtightened causing injectors to fail / fault - and we can't have you running into more problems - not now!
