Creaking Steering Wheel?

Mon Sep 11, 2017 5:57 pm

Hi Guys

I've searched for this, but no luck. I drive a Gen 4 GLX with about 131,000 km on the clock. When I'm turning while driving slowly, the steering wheel creaks. Not sure if anyone has come across this. This is to both the left and the right.

I also checked to see if it had anything to do with driving in 2H vs 4H. No difference.

I have the original OEM shocks still on the vehicle and Coopers AT3 with about 58,000km on (still looks great).

No after market mods. Any advice please?

It could just be the rubber boot that is located near the steering column as it enters the firewall. Just spray a bit of Silicon Spray (Q8) in there and the sound goes away for a few months. Just repeat the process and you should be fine.

Good evening akieviet,

I believe I'm experiencing the same issue :(

I wanted to know if you tried the silicon spray? If so, did it work?
