Hi guys.
I know this topic has been covered more than once, but I have noticed that most of the posts are very old.
I'd like to know what engine oil to use in my gen 2 v6 3.5 24v, I do have some hydraulic lifter tapping noise on cold start after a while it does seem to either go away completely or just go very feint.
It seems most people recommend the Delo 400.
Unfortunately I can't find this anywhere. Arnold from Mitsu tech in Alberton doesn't use it anymore either.
I would really appreciate the assistance.

Same problem here... no more Delo 400 from Caltex...
Anyone found it recently? I still bought some earlier this year - now nothing!

Re: Engine oil
I read the other day that obviously Delo 400 is top banana, but that Shell Rimula is a solid second place... opinions on that assertion?
Hope it helps? G

Re: Engine oil
I am somewhat new to the club and find this topic of oil very interesting. Why do Pajeros use natural oil ? Would not synthetic be better ? I have a 2011 P/sport with the old 3.2 engine with 128,000kms on the clock which I purchased six months ago and it's due an oil change soon and my local workshop use Fuchs Synthetic Oil . If there is a problem with this please tell me. I should add that I'm 80yrs. old and have always done my own oil changes in the past but ill health forces a change.

Re: Engine oil
Hullo and welcome. Having worked in the oil industry for many years I can assure you that there is no reason whatsoever not to use a synthetic engine oil. My personal opinion is that it would be rather wasted though, as synthetics are useful in overcoming some sensitivities encountered in stressed engines of which the 3.2 has none.
