Since our return from Namibia in Dec my passenger side rear view mirror seems to be loose - The mirror glass itself vibrates while driving, which is quite annoying.

Anybody else had this? Something broken inside which I can fix? How do I get the mirror opened up?

I'm following this thread. Both my Gen4's rear view mirrors also vibrates while driving. Very annoying.

Also following. My gen 4 Pajero driver side RV mirror glass is vibrating. The d(st)ealership said the whole rear view assembly needs ro be replaced and gave me a ridiculous quote...

If someone can give some guidance on how to open it up (without breaking anything! ), it would be appreciated.

You just had to give me this challenge didn’t you? .

There seem to be two ways to get the unit off:
1) from underneath there is a small plastic cover which exposes three screws. I tried to loosen them but they are tight and the angle doesn’t help so I gave up. Maybe with the right screwdriver it will be possible.

2) inside the car, simply pull the “tweeter” holder off, it attaches with one plastic plug, easy removal. Then there are two bolts holding the mirror on (at least I could only see two). The problem is you will need to remove the door panel to get to them.
