So seems like the remap plus map sensor replacement did help to increase torque.

Re: The story of Casper 3.2Didc GLS LWB 2009
So in the last six months had to replace two items which were out of the ordinary.

First was a rear suspension bush. I had an irritating creaking sound on the left rear. Further inspection showed the bush was kaput. I dont like the polybush replacements so sourced a good secondhand replacement which unfortunately came as a whole hub assembly. Creak gone and driving like new again. Will check price in the morning but it was some painfull thousands.

Then last week I started getting a squeaky fan belt noise. Especially in the morning when cold. Sprayed some Q20 in the general belt area and noise went away for a few days. On Friday it returned with a vengeance and was accompanied by a knocking noise. I drove straight to Mitspro in Centurion to have a look. They offered to replace belts but later phoned me to say it was the crankshaft pulley that started to disintegrate and starting to rub against the engine. Luckily I caught it in time otherwise it would chow through tappit cover and lead to oil leak. The pulley has a rubber damping center which basically stopped damping and just gave in. Some moolas (R3000 including fitment of secondhand unit) later and I am back on the road. Can't believe how quiet the engine sound again!!

Hopefully that is me for a while on funny noises and unexpected maintenance.

Just goes to show on older vehicles, Casper is 10yr old next year, you need to check up on strange noises sooner rather than later to prevent unnecessary additional damage.

Luckily none of the items replaced went in to become a breakdown next to the road, so all good.

190000 km service to be done around the corner.

Absolute truth that!
Don't ignore a warning sound.
If you think you heard it, don't try to wish it away. It is there and you did hear it.

PS:
I had my rear control arm bushes replaced by having new rubber ones pressed in. I was very happy with the results.

Re: The story of Casper 3.2Didc GLS LWB 2009
A while back decided that I missed the black rims again and so today recoated them again in Plastidip with some I had left over from last time plus some black Liqued Armour rubber coating.

Cant get original Plastidip in SA anymore it seems so will see how the Liqued Armour product go. The aplicator can spray is definately not as focused as the old Plastidip and it seems to not spray as thick as the original so used more coats per wheel.

Will see how long I keep it like this time but so far I like having the more butch looking black mags back.

Hi CATS,

I still like the look of the black wheels.

Please let us know how the Liquid Armour holds up.
I also bought some of it as plastidip was no longer available. Haven't used it yet, just like to have some of the stuff handy if I every felt like covering something.

Cheers.
