Hi all
I had the diff bushes and control arm bushes done on my Gen4 LWB (R8500 job). When I went to fetch it there was a grinding noise, so I went back to the Propshaft Rebuilders in Durban, who did the job.
The said it was the brake backing plate at the back. That made no difference. Then they backed off the hand brake as they said that was most probably binding. That made no difference, but I then left as I had run out of time. They say they need to skim the handbrake drum and get new brake shoes.
Is there something that could cause this to happen when a job like the above is done? Something now aligns differently when new bushes?
I am at a loss for ideas, and rather irritated with the situation I am in.
Anyone have any pearls of wisdom?
Sorry, confused myself and everyone else here.

Hi
They had bent the backing plate (dust cover) and in one spot it was catching. This was found by different mechanic.
Just incase somebody has the same thing, at least they can see my solution here.
Cheers
